What You Didn’t Know

Deer-Twin 1 2015

Deer-Twin 2 2015

Deer-Twins 2015

Last week when I posted the picture of our resident doe, I did not tell you that I knew she had a baby.  It seemed kind of silly to say, “I know she has a baby, but I don’t have a picture of it for you!”  Well, I did know, but I also knew that she was not letting it come up over the hill to the feeder.  I am guessing she just wanted to wait until it was a bit older.  What I didn’t know, is that not only does Mama have one baby, she has twins, and she let them come up the hill to the feeder early this morning.  They are definitely more difficult to photograph than are the adults.  They just kind of run and bounce around all over the place, and trying to get both of them together in one photo was almost impossible.  But I got a few, and thought you’d like to see.  Really, are they not the most precious little things???

She’s a Beauty

It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 months since I’ve been here, but indeed it has.  I actually had to look up my password, but then I have too many different passwords anyway!

I have been visiting most of you from time to time, and it looks like everyone is having a wonderful summer (or winter, depending on where you are!).  It’s been a great summer here so far in NY, although a bit rainy, but as long as it’s warm, I’m fine with that.

This little lady passes through just about every evening, cleans out the bird bath turned bird feeder, and then goes on her way.

Wishing all of you a great week ahead!

The Welcoming Committee

Canada Geese_April 2015

Well, the major part of the move is over, and now it’s a matter of getting House #1 ready to sell, so the work is not over, but the move went smoothly.

The pond out in back of the house has never been home to a duck or goose family.  At least not that I know of.

Sometimes in the spring, they come, they check things out, they definitely eat, and then they leave.

Well, I’ve not seen any ducks so far this year, but this pair of Canada Geese has been here for 4 out of the past 7 days.

I was very surprised when I saw them, because you do not see many of them here.

Stay tuned…

Need a Little Spring???

Magnolia_Spring 2014

If you live in NY, you don’t moan and complain about the winters, especially this year when almost everyone has heard about Boston’s winter.  However, I think everyone gets to a point at about this time of year, when you say, “OK ALREADY!!!”  And I am there.  :-)

So, what’s up on this end?  Well at this point, House #1 is looking like it’s been half moved out of, and House #2 looks like it’s been half moved into.  Other than necessary day-to-day things, most of what’s left in house #1 will have to be taken care of by movers.  I am hoping for late April-early May, but as most of you know, I have birds, and they cannot be moved safely until it gets MUCH warmer here.  As with winter, the same applies to the move.  “OK ALREADY, let’s get this done!!!”

For those of you that have me in a contact list, I have finally moved over to Gmail.  I still have my Yahoo account, and will be keeping it until I am sure that everything I have attached to it, is moved over to Gmail.  If you want to update my contact info, just send me a note using the contact link at the top of this page, or through my old email at Yahoo, and I will send you my new email address.

Lastly, I am considering the Nikon D810.  If any of you have it, I would love to hear what you think.  My concern, if you can call it that, is that I’ve not read anything “bad” about it, other than the weight, which is not a factor for me.  Comments are on (if I’ve remembered how to turn them back on!!).

That’s it for now, and I am hoping that the time between posts here will not be so long, in the not too distant future.  Hugs to all of you.
